How do I pronounce BLU3?
+ -BLU3 is pronounced “blue” like the color. The number ‘3’ is a tribute to our sister company, Brownie’s Third Lung, which has been the leader in the tankless diving industry for 40+ years.

How can I learn to dive with Nemo/Nomad Mini/Nomad?

How do Nemo/Nomad Mini/Nomad work?
+ -The main unit floats on the surface while you dive underwater. Inside of the unit there is a custom battery-powered air compressor. The compressor pumps air to the diver through the air hose and out through our patented Smart Reg™, which saves battery life by monitoring breathing patterns to let the compressor know exactly when it needs to send air. This means it doesn’t just push air to you, but rather breathes with you.

Can I fly on a plane with Nemo/Nomad Mini/Nomad?
+ -Yes! Although the batteries are lithium ion, they are small enough to be brought in carry-on luggage. The backpack is sized for carry-on luggage as well. Bring this Air Travel Certificate for the batteries when traveling.
How long is the warranty for?
+ -The warranty is a one year limited warranty, available at diveblu3.com/warranty.
What is Nemo?
+ -Nemo has been designed to bridge the gap between snorkeling and SCUBA diving. It is a compact dive system that supports 1 diver to 10 feet with a rechargeable battery pack that lasts over an hour.
How deep can I dive with Nemo?
+ -Nemo has been designed to bridge the gap between snorkeling and SCUBA diving. It is a compact dive system that supports 1 diver to 10 feet with a rechargeable battery pack that lasts over an hour.
What are the age limits for using Nemo?
+ -Users must be 8 years of age or older to dive with Nemo, but are restricted to diving in a swimming pool only, in water shallow enough so that they can stand with their head above the surface of the water. Nemo users must be 10 years of age or older to dive outside of the pool. Users under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian supervision at all times.

How do I set Nemo up for diving?

How does the user know when the Nemo battery life is depleted?
+ -Nemo gradually declines in air flow performance in the final minutes of battery life to gently alert the user that the battery is going to be fully depleted soon. The decline in performance is a signal that it is time to conclude the dive.
How do you charge the Nemo battery?
+ -The Nemo Battery can easily be swapped out and recharged between dives using the charger that is supplied with the battery, and plugging into a wall outlet. A full charge takes 3 hours. Each battery comes with a charger.
Can you recharge the Nemo battery in a boat or in a car?
+ -Yes, with an inverter. The Nemo battery charger draws about 40 W, so an inverter with a power rating of about 100 W or more will allow you to recharge Nemo batteries from a DC source.
What voltage does Nemo battery charger use?
+ -The charger accepts 100-240 VAC and 50/60 Hz, so it will work worldwide.
Can I swap out the Nemo battery to dive longer?
+ -Absolutely! Swapping out the Nemo Battery takes less than one minute and each battery typically supplies an hour or more of dive time.
Does Nemo have to be in the water when in use?
+ -Yes. Nemo is water cooled and if it is run out of water for an extended period of time then it will overheat.
Does Nemo tow easily in the water?
+ -Yes, Nemo is very small and has very little drag so it tows very easily. The Dive Harness distributes weight throughout the user's body so that the user can hardly feel Nemo.
What is Nomad?
+ -Nomad is a tankless diving system rated for a maximum diving depth of 30 feet.
How long is the Nomad air hose?
+ -The air hose is 40 feet, but the maximum depth rating is 30 feet. This is to provide extra scope angle in the hose while you are diving.
Why would I choose Nemo instead of Nomad?
+ -Nomad has been optimized for the 20-30 foot depth range. Nemo’s motor is more efficient in the 10 foot depth range, so if you are diving in 10 feet or less then Nemo will give you better run time. If you want to dive deeper than 10 feet, Nomad is the right move for you.

What are the age limits of using Nomad?

How does the user know when the Nomad battery life is depleted?
+ -As Nomad’s Battery gets closer to being fully depleted, Nomad will begin to sputter with small delays in air flow in the middle of each breath. These small delays will cause a pulsating sensation that will be noticeably different from normal air flow when the battery is fully charged. The pulsating sensation will become more frequent as the battery becomes increasingly discharged. When the pulsating sensation is first noticed, this is a signal that the diver should begin to slowly ascend to the surface and end the dive. Be cognizant of this low battery warning while diving so that you can make a controlled ascent to the surface prior to Nomad shutting off.
